How are crystals or other materials affected by psychic or paranormal phenomena?


I would like to build a device which detects ghosts or other paranormal activity. I don't trust EMF detectors or such like they have on those ghost-hunting shows as those could be set off by things which are not ghosts (unshielded electrical power sources, natural static electricity, etc.). I would rather have the device be specific to phenomenon in question.

I have read stuff about crystals having powers to absorb, channel, and project psychic energy. If this is the case, would there be detectable changes in vibrations, temperature, pressure, etc. around crystals when ghosts or psychic activity is present? If not, is there another material which would react in a predictable and measurable way?

One problem with your theory.. Everything including ghosts work on a level of electricity. all electrical forces means gravity, sense of balance etc. no mater the device, electrical energy can mess with it. even dowsers and EMF and optical receptors. nice try though.

In the paranormal/psychic field, what are "vibrations"?


In the paranormal/psychic field, I often hear about people discussing or sensing "vibrations". Exactly what are vibrations?
What substance is vibrating? What is causing the oscillations? Does the amplitude of these vibrations decrease over time or remain constant?
At what velocity do these waves travel? Or are they standing waves that do not travel through space?

I answered this on another question, but I'll be happy to provide the same answer:
Truthfully vibrations are not the physical vibrations that you think about. They are actually strong senses of feelings, or hunches, gut instincts etc. Some people are very sensitive to anything out of the normal range and it is through these 'vibes' that they get a sense of something. Everyone has this ability, most just don't realize it. Have you never 'felt' like something was wrong without knowing what it was? That is a simple version of a 'vibe'. It isn't some mathematical equation, or physics issue to dissect.

Could people with identical names have any kind of a paranormal or psychic connection?


just curious on your thoughts.

It seems like a name puts a certain energy around a person. Kind of like if they are in a brown room, versus a green room (Color that people can see sometimes changes how they feel and their energy).
But maybe people are named based on what their energy is like. Like destiny or something. Who knows! =)

Actually none of those. When I watch those shows, I do so purely for entertainment purposes. The only thing those shows confirm to me is that the general public is willing to believe just about anything if its presented on television.

Using the energy from aura's (psychic/paranormal related question)?


This question is directed at any psychic/paranormal person.

Can you tell me if it is possible for me to use the energy being emitted from my aura? Like... if trained, will I be able to use my aura's energy as a forcefield from physical objects?

(I'm just curious so don't start going on about how its not real... I only want actual ppl who claim to have experience to answer this question, and if its possible, how? how did you achieve the ability? etc.)

How can one Learn Telekinesis?

Moving objects with the power of one's energy is called telekinesis. The American Heritage Dictionary defines it as follows:

"tel·e·ki·ne·sis (tµl"¹-k¹-n¶"s¹s, -kº-) n. The movement of objects by scientifically inexplicable means, as by the exercise of an occult power."

I believe that this can be done, all is energy, although so far I have not felt any ambition to develop this skill.

However, in the book Rainbows of Life by Mikol Davis and Earle Lane, on page 43, one can see two Tesla-Kirlian images: the energy field of Uri Geller's fingertip and the energy field of a wristwatch obviously having a band with metal closure.

The first picture shows the fingertip at rest and the watch at a distance of a few inches from the fingertip.

The second picture shows a "cannon ball" of energy with an energy trail toward the watch coming out of the fingertip, when Uri Geller was concentrating on shooting out energy toward the watch. The metal closure was moved and is clearly visible as energy field in a different position than shown in the first image.

My experience with developing spiritual/energy skills is that when we believe 100% that we can do it, we can! Any doubt will hold us back. There is no effort, it is just a light thought that we can.

You may want to train your ability to focus and believe 100% that you can do it. You may want to practice every day for a few minutes, with light weight objects you want to move, until you can. It may take an hour, a week, a year, or "forever," depending on your 100% believe that you can do it. You can.

You may look for healing phenomena in books on Tesla-Kirlian photography. It is an amazing subject!

I have a question for a paranormal studier or a psychic?


This is kinda just a fun question, to see what kind of replies we may get. My fiance, Jacob, is 23 years old and is interested to see if someone out there may be able to tell him about his past lives.

He is a sweet guy, he is into paranormal study.

He seems to hold some belief that one his past lives have something to do with vampirism, and he also holds an interest in teh Jack the ripper murders.

A psychic lady once told him that he was jack the ripper in a previous life, but that seems a little far-fetched and we aren't sure if we should believe her anyways. I mean, sure, anything is possible, but seriously.

So if anyone wants to take a shot at this, go ahead! =)

His name is Jacob, he lives in Idaho, and he is 23 years old.

First of all, the whole 'past lives' thing is pretty much a fraud. Although plenty of people have had 'past life regressions', none of them were suddenly able to speak a new language while reliving that life, or demonstrate a skill they didn't have before. The most convincing cases come from India, where most of the population believes this stuff and often uses it to rip each other off, by pretending one of their kids was a wealthier neighbor who recently died. They coached the kids about the neighbors life, but when the kids were questioned in detail, it was obvious they were making it up. And those were the more convincing tales.

Second, there are no vampires. Third, there are also no psychics. Plenty of people will take your money and claim to tell you about your 'past lives' - how could you ever prove them wrong, after all? It's one of the more fool-proof scams.

List of psychic or paranormal abilities?


I'm doing some research on different "psychic" or paranormal abilities. I was wondering if anyone could give me a list of some of them.

I already have the things like clairvoyance, astral projection, bilocation, psychometry, psychokinesis, postcognition, and precognition, but I wanted to know if there were more. If so, can someone please give me some examples (with or without definitions - it doesn't matter.) If there is a website with lots, I'd appreciate that too!

I have never thought of this in a poetic light before.

Recently read a book about the Catholic mystic priest known
as Padre Pio. He had the stigmata and people were physically
healed by getting a piece of his bandages. Two other miracles
mentioned were levitation and bi location.
The story was about an Italian pilot whose plane was shot down
during WWII.
The pilot bailed out but his chute didn't open. He found himself
in the arms of Padre Pio and landed safely.

About 20 years ago, I asked an elderly Nun if she had heard of him.
Her surprising answer was "He was my Mentor". He was in Italy,
she was in Oregon. I was so stunned with her answer that I
don't recall if I asked any more on the subject.

Another man, one I consider the most holy and humble that I
ever knew, admitted to having a few visitations with Jesus. I also
heard of him being in two places at once. But very human.
