My grandmother is taking the loss of my grandfather very hard now how can I help her?

My grandfather died 4 years ago due to his lungs having excessive amount of scar tissue. Anyway, my grandmother took it really hard. They were together 52 years and she married him when she was a teen. My grandfather adored her and was very protective of her. They never ever spent a day with out each other. The first year was tough on her she cried at the drop of a hat and she had several anxiety attacks. After the first year she was coping better until this year. She started to become very vulnerable and trusting strangers very easily. She even told my mother and I that she paid a psychic that she met in the streets $110.00 if not more to become her spiritual advisor. She also cries each time she makes a mistake and says maybe she shouldn't even live. I'm scared for her.

First of all, what a sweet caring grandchild you are! The next step is finding gramma's passion and encouraging her to do them. Did she stop the things she loved once since grampa died? Gardening, sewing, shopping? Does she have a circle of friends? She needs to be needed. Grampa was the one she loved to cater to, I'm sure. Does she have a pet?Soooo many animals are in the shelters just waiting for a loving soul to adopt them. An older dog or cat that's more mellow would be good. Chances are, their beloved owner died. And then there's the computer idea. I have a 93 yr. old friend that got her first computer last year. She let it set, thinkin' she could never learn, but you should see her now! She looks up recipes and e mails relatives!....Your poor sweet gramma may need antidepressents. It could make a world of difference in how she sees herself and her future.
